Photos from the July 2019 NorthEast ComicCon show!

Here are some pictures I took at the NorthEast ComicCon show on July 6, 2019. These shows are normally held in March and November, but they decided to hold a special summer edition. It was relatively short notice, so they decided to scale down the show a bit, but it still went pretty well. The digital camera used to take these photos was a Sony Mavica FD91, circa 1998, which used 3.5" floppy disks (remember those?) as its storage medium. It's limited to 0.8MP resolution, so the image quality isn't great. Regardless, enjoy!

Shot of the parking lot outside of the hotel. This was taken around the time I left at 3PM, but was still about as full as when I got there.

View from the entrance to the vendor room, from about mid-afternoon.

Gary Sohmers, our gracious host! Shown here in his natural habitat, appraising some pop-culture goodies just as he's done on Antiques Roadshow many times.

The big train set visible just inside the entrance door.

Some of the vendors at the show. All sorts of pop culture collectibles, including comic books, action figures, posters, video games, records, replica weapons, steampunk jewelry, etc.

The artists row. Not as many as at a usual NECC show, but still a fair number.

John O'Hurley, everyone! *applause* One of the handful of celebrities they were able to get to attend at fairly short notice.

John and the other celebrities were willing to participate in an interesting (and weird) panel involving artificial intelligence.

One of the vendors, dressed up as Bowser, I think.

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na THIS GUY!!!

Riddle me this, riddle me that...

Some joker, aka yours truly. Cameras like this Mavica aren't well-suited to taking selfies, and it shows...

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my photos! Apologies for the quality of some of them; digital camera technology as come a LONG way since 1998..........
