Atlas

Atlas
Despite the obscure brand, Atlas, this cathedral clock is undoubtedly a copy of Telechron's successful model 355 cathedral clock, which was manufactured in the late twenties to early thirties. The clock mechanism is very simple and requires a spin start when power is first applied, unlike the vast majority of Telechron's clocks that automatically started running. I bought this Atlas clock in an antique store for eight bucks, but the hands were missing so I fabricated new ones.

General Electric 7H140 "The Delegate"

GE 7H140
This General Electric 7H140 was manufactured by Telechron in the late forties. My grandparents bought this clock after World War II. The clock is unique because the mechanism is completely enclosed by the wooden case from the front to back.

Telechron 700 "Electroalarm"

Telechron 700
This Telechron 700 "Electroalarm" clock is one of the finest masterpieces that arguably started the Art Deco style. Manufactured from 1929 to 1931, the model 700 is also known as the "Skyscraper" because of its stylish case. The case was available in different colors, including the common brown bakelite or the white or rarer green "vinylite" (another name for plaskon).
