A ion motor is a simple motor that uses ions to function, nothing special. There are several different ways to build a ion motor, but this ion motor can be built in less than a minute if you have the things needed for this project. My ion motor was specifically designed to run off a strong tesla coil. You will need two things, a thick bare copper wire; at least 14 gauge, and some magnet wire; from 22 to 26 gauge.

Below is a construction diagram of the ion motor.

The black wire illustrated above is the copper wire and the thin red wire is the magnet wire. Make sure the magnet wire rotates freely and smoothly. This ion motor goes on top of the toroid of a strong tesla coil, I used it on my version 5 tesla coil.
