Delco R6011 Circa 1937Band: AM & SW Tube Lineup: 6A7, 15, 15, 15, 76, 76, 19 Contributed by T. Dumerauf
This Delco R6011 is a farm radio that ran off large 6-volt car batteries due to the heavy current consumption of the vibrator power supply that converted the battery voltage to the higher B+ voltage for the tubes. Radios that run on AC require less current because of the higher mains voltage (120V), so for equivalent power consumption with a 6-volt battery, higher current was consumed.
Kadette K152 Circa 1937Bands: AM & SW Tube Lineup: 6A7, 6B7, 6D6, 43, 25Z5 Contributed by Bruce
Bruce discovered this fabulous peanut butter mottled Kadette in a thrift store. The radio strongly resembles the model K152, but the tube lineup does not match. I believe the chassis may be more closely related to the model 85 or another model with a similar tube lineup, but was sold in a similar cabinet. Note that the models 150, 151, and 152 all have the same radio chassis but came with a bakelite, plaskon, or peanut butter mottled cabinet respectively.
Philco 89 1935Bands: AM & SW Tube Lineup: 44, 77, 44, 75, 42, 80 Contributed by A. Guha
Sparton 558 "Sled" 1937Bands: AM & SW Tube Lineup: 6A8, 6K7, 6Q7, 6F6, 5Y3 Contributed by P. Wieck
Sparton mirrored radios are highly sought by radio collectors. This model was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague, and the mirror cabinet was available in blue or peach - the latter is rarer.
Watterson 400 Circa 1936Band: AM Tube Lineup: 6D6, 6C6, 43, 25Z5 Contributed by G. Potter
This radio was made by the Watterson Radio Manufacturing Company in Dallas, Texas.
