This was my first attempt to make a tesla coil using a six-volt lantern battery. I used a oscilloscope transformer, and my high voltage generator circuit. On the transformer, the 6.3V filament terminal is my primary, and the 1KV high-voltage plate terminal is my output. The rest of the parts are from my version 1 tesla coil.

Below is the schematic diagram of version 2 tesla coil.

I used a heavy-duty 10V relay in this circuit. This tesla coil makes discharges up to a half-inch, which is pretty good for a six-volt lantern battery.
