Atari C-140 "Super Pong"
1976
The Atari Super Pong C-140, released in 1976, was an upgraded version of the original Atari Pong console, offering four different Pong game variations instead of just one. It was built around the Atari Pong-in-a-chip IC (C010073-01), which was revolutionary at the time, allowing for on-screen scoring—a feature rarely found in early Pong systems. The C-140 was also sold under Sears' Tele-Games brand, featuring detachable controllers and a woodgrain-style casing, distinguishing it from Atari’s standard models. Like its predecessor, it connected directly to a television and provided a simple yet engaging multiplayer experience, helping to solidify Atari’s dominance in the early home gaming market.
