Texas Instruments TI-1750

1977

The TI-1750, introduced in April 1977, was Texas Instruments' first LCD-based calculator, marking its entry into the slimline electronic calculator market. It featured an 8-digit yellow LCD display, basic arithmetic functions, and algebraic logic, making it a compact and efficient device for everyday calculations. Powered by three LR44 batteries, the TI-1750 was manufactured in Japan and was part of TI’s effort to compete with early LCD calculators from Sharp and Casio. Over its production run, it underwent several design revisions, eventually leading to models like the TI-1766, which introduced solar power.
