The Majestic 20 grandfather clock radio combination is a lovely example of the many grandfather clock radios that were popular in the early 1930s. I have seen a couple cabinet variations of this model with different radio and speaker grille placement, and sometimes with a different clock face.

This Majestic radio example was a 2019 purchase from a fellow VRPS member and friend who had it stashed away in his garage for several years. The cabinet needed minor veneer repairs and a light coat of shellac to restore the original finish and luster. The radio is a model 20 chassis that contains a 8 tube superheterodyne with a push pull audio output using a pair of 45 tubes. Like the model 15, the model 20 chassis has a peculiar upside-down T shape that fully enclosed the large ganged tuning capacitor.
