The Stewart Warner 91-513 is a very unusual art-deco radio enclosed in a wooden cabinet shaped like a "spade" hence its nickname amongst radio collectors. Stewart Warner advertised the 91-513 as a radio that could be placed in the middle of a room and appreciated without seeing the electronics from behind like most tabletop radios of the time. The 91-513 uses the same chassis as the model 91-51 that was offered in more conventional wood tabletop cabinet styles.

I had long strived to add one to my collection and had the opportunity to purchase one a few times. The first time was at a VRPS auction over a decade ago that I let slip away and regretted it ever since because they have never gotten cheaper or easier to find since then. I purchased this nice restored example from ebay in 2019.
