RCA 5Q55 "New Yorker"

1939

Bands: AM, SW

Tube Lineup: 6SA7, 6K7, 6SQ7, 6F6, 5Y3

A relatively large and heavy radio in a walnut bakelite cabinet, this RCA 5Q55 is an interesting transformer-powered superheterodyne with a large slide rule dial similar to other 1938 RCA tombstones. This model was designed by John Vassos and originally priced at $29.95. An ivory painted cabinet model was also an available option at the time.
