Air King 222 "Autocrat"

Air King 222 "Autocrat"

1938

Bands: AM

Tube Lineup: 6D6, 6C6, 75, 25L6, 25Z5

A cute midget bakelite radio, this Air King was produced using a fairly simple and inexpensive TRF radio circuit. This cabinet is identical to the earlier 1937 model 214 that had a different tube lineup. There were several variations of this cabinet with different grille and dial layouts that were seen again almost a decade later after WWII with examples including the Air King A-400, 4607 (walnut bakelite), 4608 (ivory plaskon) and the Truetone D-2709.
