Detrola 208

Detrola 208

1938

Bands: AM

Tube Lineup: 6D6, 6C6, 25L6, 25Z5

This magnificent Detrola was obtained from ebay and in great shape. A simple recap and some cleaning was all that it needed. The radio is a simple TRF receiver that was replaced in 1939 with the model 283 utilizing a superhetrodyne design and retained the same cabinet design but with a different tuning knob location. I have seen several Detrola models and other brands that use the same cabinet mold and sometimes with different knob locations. Besides the common brown bakelite cabinet, there are ivory plaskon and beetle versions.
