A cute midget bakelite radio, this Truetone was made by Western Auto Supply and is a very simple 4-tube variation of the All American 5 superheterodyne design but without an IF amplifier stage that normally uses a 12SK7 tube. If you thought this radio appears anachronistic for 1947, you would be correct because this cabinet design has been used before on Air King midget radios, for instance, the Air King model 222 dates from circa 1938 and has the same cabinet with the difference being the speaker grille design.
