Philco 60B

Philco 60B

1935

Bands: AM

Tube Lineup: 6A7, 78, 75, 42, 80

A classic and successful cathedral radio made by Philco, the model 60 was produced from 1933 to 1936 with a few cabinet variations over time. The first model 60 introduced in 1933 looks very similar in appearance to the Philco "Junior" model 80. This particular 60B example is the third version for the mid-1935 model year that had a different grille cutout compared to the earlier version. It has a bakelite dial escutcheon and hexagon knobs typical of Philco radios of 1935-36. I bought this radio from a VRPS auction around 2018 and only had to replace the torn grille cloth. The cabinet still retains its original finish. The radio was already recapped and played well.
