As usual, on Friday night, the infamous bonfire was held. Throughout the day, several beat-up console cabinets were set up near a fire pit, and during the evening, they started the blasphemy. Here are several photos I took of it. Warning: extremely graphic radio destruction content ahead!

A couple of cardboard boxes which were in with the condemned for some reason:

In late afternoon, people started pulling parts off of the condemned:

Seen near the bonfire pit:

Actually, it's the grill shack's kegerator, made up to look like a Zenith Stratosphere:

A view of the fire starting in the firepit as the salvage continues:

An odd speaker cabinet in with the radio cabinets:

One of the stripped carcasses:

Another speaker cabinet, partially stripped of its grill cloth:

While this is happening, the first of the condemned gets thrown in, a stereo console cabinet which goes in face-down for some reason:

While the cabinet is burning, the spectators assemble the Leaning Towers of Radios:

The stereo console continues to burn as some scraps are thrown on top:

A kid starts shooting fireworks out of a pneumatic potato launcher, or something:

One of the waiting cabinets is his first victim:

The cabinet is then placed next to the remains of the stereo console:

My first attempts to take a photo of the nearly-full moon:

The Philco continues to burn, as a similar cabinet is forced to watch:

A view of the crowd watching the remnants of the Philco burn:

Another cabinet is placed into the pit, might've been a Zenith:

It was a little too eager to fall forward, so it was propped up:

And then it decided to fall over in the other direction:

Now part of a '20s radio cabinet is placed in the flames:

Well, that didn't take long...

The cabinet forced to watch is subjected to some fireworks:

Now the fireworks kid decides to break out an old road flare:

And then what's left of the flare gets thrown into the firepit:

Wait for it.....

After the flare has (brilliantly) burnt itself out, the bonfire resumes in earnest with a double-decker:

Now some more fireworks:

Back to the towering inferno:

And down it goes in spectacular fashion:

Another fireworks interlude:

Another double-decker is constructed, with the top cabinet upside-down for some reason:

Upside-down is now just plain down:

A small TV cabinet is placed besides the remains of the double-decker:

Now another double-decker is constructed next to the remains of the TV cabinet:

A tower struck down:

The remnants are pushed back into the fire:

A few more attempts at moon photography:

Yet another double-decker is put together:

"Awww, he's no fun, he fell right over..."

The stoking stick is used to reposition the burning hulks within the pit:

After a decent second act, that odd-shaped speaker cabinet from earlier is placed beside the wreck:

Now a partial '20s radio cabinet is placed next to the speaker cabinet:

And down it goes:

Now a double-decker of a different shape is stacked up:

A long German stereo console cabinet on top of another '20s cabinet:

And over it goes:

Another random moon photo:

After all the double-deckers, a single (but heavy) '20s cabinet is placed into the flames:

And finally, its spindly legs give out from underneath it:

A wooden pallet is placed into the fire, followed by all or part of at least five cabinets, to create the colossus known as the Grand Finale:

Someone left a couple of speaker drivers in one of the cabinets:

Yes, we all had to back away from the massive burning tower:

The top-most cabinet topples:

The outer-most cabinet topples again:

One last shot of the moon:

A few shots of the crowd watching the remains burn:

A shot of the grill shack and main pavilion after dark:

A couple of shots of the fire pit the morning after, including those speakers:
