Federal Jr
1921
Bands: AM
Tube Lineup: Crystal
For many years I have focused on collecting radios from the thirties, but I couldn't pass up this Federal Jr crystal radio when I saw it at an estate sale for an irresistible price of ten dollars! The Federal Jr. has a black metal case with a bakelite top. It is quite simple, consisting of the antenna, ground, and earphone terminals and uses a crystal mineral for the detector. The radio was produced by the Federal Telephone & Telegraph Company and the original sale price was $25 in 1921.
